Welcome to auditions for the NGYWS 2024-25 Season!
Auditions for the 2024-2025 season will take place on Saturday, August 10th on the campus of Reinhardt University. Please read below for the audition requirements.
WHO CAN AUDITION
All 9th thru 12th graders for the 2024-2025 school year are eligible to audition. Eighth graders may audition but must provide a recommendation letter from their director that must be received no later than one week prior to the audition. Letters may be sent to dennis.naughton@reinhardt.edu.
How to Prepare
Students should prepare approximately 2-3 total minutes of music consisting of two contrasting excerpts (one fast/technical and one slow/lyrical) from the standard solo and/or etude repertoire for their instrument. Selected major and chromatic scales will be asked, and sightreading will be provided.
Percussionists should prepare all 12 major and chromatic scales, a solo/etude on two of the following instruments, and be prepared to sightread on the other instrument:
Snare
Mallets (either 2 or 4 mallets for etude, 2 mallets for sight reading)
Timpani
Basic rudiments, buzz rolls, and timpani tuning will also be demonstrated.
Students should not use GMEA All-State Band/Orchestra audition materials or orchestral excerpts.
We also invite applicants on harp, piano, and string bass.
Location
Auditions will be held at Reinhardt University School Performing Arts Building on Saturday, August 10th at 8:30 am.

If you need to reschedule your audition, please email dennis.naughton@reinhardt.edu or KGB@reinhardt.edu and we will take care of it for you. Please do not attempt to reschedule yourself.
Fee
The cost for each audition is $10. Payment will be processed during the sign-up below.
